5:30 PM — Hotel Pickup

6:00 PM — Kashi Vishwanath Corridor Evening Visit
The new corridor is beautifully illuminated in the evening. Relatively shorter queues at 6 PM versus morning peaks. The architecture and the view from the corridor overlooking the Ganga is extraordinary in golden evening light.
6:20 PM — Ghat Walk to Dashashwamedh
15-minute walk from the Corridor to Dashashwamedh Ghat through the ancient lanes (galis) of Varanasi. Our driver meets you at the ghat after navigating to the nearest vehicle pickup point. The galis in evening light — incense smoke, temple bells, vendors selling flowers and diyas — are themselves a Varanasi experience.
6:30 PM — Arrive Dashashwamedh Ghat
30 minutes before aarti: secure your position on the ghat steps or in a boat. Official boatmen near Dashashwamedh offer aarti viewing boats at ₹200–₹500 per person. Watching from the river looking toward the ghat is the most immersive experience — you are surrounded by the Ganga while the aarti unfolds on the illuminated steps before you.
7:00 PM — Ganga Aarti Begins
Seven priests, synchronised to the minute, begin the 45–60 minute ceremony. Multi-tiered brass lamps, camphor, flowers, peacock fans, conch shells, incense. The crowd of thousands falls into a collective silent reverence as the fire moves in ancient patterns. On festival nights, extended ceremony with additional participants.
8:00 PM — Post-Aarti — Floating Diyas & Ghat Walk
After aarti, buy floating earthen lamps from ghat vendors (₹10–₹20) and release them on the Ganga — a prayer carried by the river. The ghat in the hour after aarti, lit by a thousand floating diyas, is magical. Then our driver coordinates your return pickup.
